Privacy policy

Ruler King

This policy covers Ruler King only (version 1.0.0 at the time of writing). Our other products have their own, because they do different things with different data.

Data we collect

Nothing leaves your machine.

Ruler King sends no data to us and no data to anyone else. It has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no account. Your settings are kept by the browser, on your computer, and are removed when you uninstall the extension.

We therefore hold no personal information about you and could not produce any if asked. There is nothing to export, and nothing to delete beyond uninstalling.

Permissions

Chrome shows you a list of permissions when you install anything. Here is what Ruler King asks for and why, in the same words the manifest uses.

PermissionWhy it is needed
storageSave your settings and preferences in the browser, on your own machine.
tabsSee the address and title of your open tabs, so the extension knows which page you mean.
activeTabAct on the page you are currently looking at, only when you invoke the extension.
scriptingRun its own code inside the page you are viewing, to read or mark up what is on screen.
contextMenusAdd its own entries to the browser right-click menu.

Sites it can run on

PatternWhat that means
<all_urls>Every site you visit — the extension is designed to work anywhere, so it cannot name a shorter list.
Your choices

Uninstalling the extension removes its stored settings with it. You do not need to contact us first, and there is no account left behind.

If you would like something explained or corrected, email [email protected]. If you think this page is wrong about what the product does, say so plainly and we will fix the page or the product.

Changes

If a future version of Ruler King starts collecting or sending something it does not today, this page changes before that version ships, and the change is described here rather than quietly folded in.

Sitewide terms are covered by our terms of use, and the website's own privacy notice is at /privacy.html.
